Pantai Bias Tugel is a small, cosy sandy beach in the east of Bali. It is surrounded by a special landscape and lots of green vegetation. Despite great conditions, the beach is not too busy. Find out what makes Bias Tugel Beach so special, where exactly it is located and what you can experience there in the following article.
Where is Bias Tugel Beach located?
Bias Tugel Beach is located on the east coast of Bali, in the small harbour town of Padang Bai. It is a little southwest of the main beach and the ferry port. Pantai Bias Tugel is easily accessible on foot from there. You should plan about 15 minutes for the walk.
You will look in vain for a proper access road and a car park. There is a simple path leading to the beach, which after a while descends a steep slope. If you are travelling by scooter, you should find a suitable place to park early on.
The unassuming path to the beach
Like many beaches in Bali, Bias Tugel is also located at the foot of a cliff. However, the beach is not surrounded by steep cliffs. You can walk down to the beach relatively relaxed. Even from the top of the cliff, there is a great view of the sea, the waves and the brightly shining sandy beach.
The tall coconut palms on the beach create a tropical holiday atmosphere. Only the very simple warungs do not quite fit into the perfect picture of a holiday brochure. But they offer delicious food and cold coconuts to drink.
What to do at Bias Tugel Beach
The beach itself scores particularly well with the fact that it is often only visited by a small number of people, as well as with its natural surroundings. The small bay in which the beach is located is surrounded by dark volcanic rock, which provides a special contrast to the light-coloured sand. In addition to the tall coconut palms, many shrubs grow around the beach, creating a real sense of nature.
The beach is primarily suitable for relaxing and is therefore ideal for a few hours of relaxation. Real activities such as surfing, snorkelling or other water sports cannot be undertaken here.
Relaxation
As already mentioned, the Bias Tugel has a few small warungs. As inconspicuous as they are, the dishes they offer are delicious. You can also buy chilled, young drinking coconuts there – the perfect refreshment on hot beach days. The warungs also provide some beach loungers, on which you can make yourself comfortable for a fee. Alternatively, you can of course lie comfortably on your own beach towel.
Bathing
Pantai Bias Tugel is a wonderful place to cool off in the water. However, you should not expect optimal conditions at all times for proper swimming. Sometimes the waves at the beach are a bit too high for this – relaxed swimming is therefore not always possible. But simple bathing is also possible and safe when the waves are high.
Conclusion: Is Bias Tugal Beach worth a visit?
The small beach of Bias Tugal is a beautiful beach in Bali that is relatively uncrowded for the conditions it offers. It is beautifully situated in a small bay lined with dark volcanic rock. Even though there are no spectacular activities to do there, Pantai Bias Tugal is perfect for a relaxing beach day.
